Is a journey with an end
You will never reach
Because you can’t transcend
The daily defeat that knocks you to the floor
Slaps you in the face
And Closes Every door

It’s staring at a clouded sky
Without the drive to ask why

Why can’t I see beyond this mist
Beyond this cloak

I will take my dagger
I will run it deep
And cut open the mystery I seek

If all that lies beyond is darkness
An empty void – A sea of silence
That we float in day to day

Hope – that something is there
Hope – that someone can
Hope – that is what brings the end

The drive to strive
To never give up
To always look twice at an empty cup
And see if it holds any value

But I know what to do
What to give failure in reply
